Aleks joins from the town of Kazanlak, Bulgaria, Europe. He started dancing when he was 6 and immediately discovered his passion and devoted his life to becoming a great dancer. His first competition was when he was 11 years old. Despite the first time jitters, he and his partner, Antonia, took first place! Aleks went on to win many competitions in 1999 and 2000 and eventually became the National Champion of Bulgaria in the International Latin Division. He also competed internationally in Austria in 2002 and Greece in 2003.

In 2003, he joined one of the most popular dance companies in Bulgaria and toured 6 of the biggest cities in the country with a production known as Planet Payner (similar to America’s MTV countdown).

Aleks began teaching Ballroom dance to children at the age of 16, and started teaching adults when he turned 17.

In 2007, Aleks moved to the USA and found a teaching position in Phoenix, AZ for Fred Astaire. While in Phoenix, Aleks got the opportunity to dance with one of his students in Phoenix’s version of Dancing with the Stars.

He joined the Buffalo Grove team in April of 2008 and is determined to live out his passion of dancing with Fred Astaire Dance Studios.
