Megan, a Chicago native, grew up immersed in music and athletics, so it’s no surprise that she’s a professional ballroom dancer today.  She began her dance training at age five studying ballet and started her athletic training on the soccer field! Megan also began studying music around that time and quickly became quite the virtuoso, mastering instruments like the piano, oboe, and the saxophone.  She went on compete in several different music festivals and even won the title of top pianist of the Illinois Association of Christian Schools in 2003.

Megan’s flair for the dramatic lead her to a successful career in modeling with the highlight being a feature spread in Allure magazine.  Amidst all of that, Megan found time to train in Ballroom Dancing at Fred Astaire on Michigan Ave.  While there, she made a name for herself in the Chicago region as one of the top amateur competitors, performing in all styles of Ballroom dancing.

As a student of Kelya Assis, Megan jumped at the opportunity to dance with Fred Astaire Dance Studios professionally under the management of Kelya at the South Barrington location.  Soon after, Megan joined the Chicago North team where she has found her place as both a social and competitive teacher.
