Melanie began dancing at the young age of three and hasn’t stopped since! She began her training the ballet studio and became a much sought after dancer for the Quad City Ballet. Melanie soon added another skill to her repertoire as she mastered the sport of gymnastics. Combining those two skills gave her a very agile and athletic form of dance that she brought to the competitive floor. Melanie coached and choreographed for a nationally ranked team of teenage dancers specializing in Pointe, hip hop, and Latin beats.
As a student at Bradley University, Melanie earned a degree in Theatre Performance and studied under Zeva Barzell, Steve Snyder and George Brown. While performing, choreographing, and contributing to over 30 productions, Melanie found time to serve as President of Bradley's first dance ensemble, Dansee, and as Secretary of Alpha Psi Omega, the theatre fraternity.
Melanie is respected in the Dance Community as a well rounded, experienced dancer as well as a great entertainer. Her passion for Ballroom Dancing and zest for life are a great addition to Fred Astaire! She can’t wait to share Ballroom Dancing with you, her students! |
